The Health and Life Sciences (HLS) cluster prepares students to pursue majors and careers in the diverse and exciting world of health care. HLS majors can explore careers in patient care, laboratory work, health care administration, and health education.
Around 75% of HLS majors are interested in direct patient care programs, all of which are competitive and application based, so HLS advisors and our career consultant help students carefully plan their schedules; prepare their applications; and create smart, personalized parallel plans and career goals that align with each student’s values, interests, personality, and skills.
We also work with current IU Indianapolis students who are not pursuing degrees through the School of Science to prepare for a professional school in health care. Pre-professional health programs include medicine, dentistry, optometry, physical therapy, physician assistant, occupational therapy, pharmacy, chiropractic, and even veterinary medicine. Whether you are an exercise science major wanting to become a physical therapist, a business major wanting to pursue dentistry, or a journalism major looking to be a chiropractor, we can help you prepare for professional school and achieve your goals.
