Search by keyword, major, job title, or industry. Use this information to narrow down majors and careers of interest. Next, reach out to professionals who can provide even MORE insight. Use your people resources wisely with informational interviewing and job shadowing.

Job shadowing

As you speak with professionals and grow your network, try to get an insider's view by job shadowing. See the environment and work culture for yourself, and determine the skills and abilities you will need to be successful in a particular industry. Contact area employers to request a shadowing experience. Employers frequently visit IU Indianapolis for information sessions or recruiting events, and they are usually happy to help. Networking sites, such as LinkedIn, can also help you connect to professionals.
